1. Agreement

By accessing or using RecipeBuilder ("the Service"), operated by ByteBeam ("we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

RecipeBuilder is a software-as-a-service platform for food businesses to manage recipes, calculate nutrition information, generate packaging labels, and track ingredient costs.

3. Account Terms

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age in your jurisdiction.
  • One person or business entity may not maintain more than one account.

4. Payment Terms

  • The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing is as displayed at the time of purchase.
  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on an annual basis.
  • All fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
  • Failed payments may result in suspension of access until payment is resolved.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload the Service.
  • Upload malicious files or content.

6. Your Data

  • You retain ownership of all recipe data, ingredients, and content you create.
  • We do not claim intellectual property rights over your content.
  • You grant us a license to host, display, and process your data solely to provide the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your nutrition labels and regulatory compliance in your jurisdiction.

7. Nutrition Label Disclaimer

RecipeBuilder provides tools to calculate and generate nutrition labels based on data you input. We do not guarantee the accuracy of nutrition calculations. You are solely responsible for verifying that your labels comply with applicable food labeling regulations in your jurisdiction (e.g., FDA, EU Regulation 1169/2011, ESMA). We recommend consulting with a qualified food scientist or regulatory consultant before publishing labels.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteBeam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will provide reasonable notice for planned downtime.

10. Termination

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms.
  • Upon termination, your data will be retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
